Collateral Damage

Question: A 52 year old woman experiences brisk epistaxis following endoscopic sinus surgery. A source is discovered at the posterior edge of the inferior turbinate, likely originating from the sphenopalatine artery. The area is aggressively cauterized and the bleeding stops. Postoperatively, she notes that while her rhinitis is significantly improved, she has a gritty sensation in her eye. Injury to what structure may have led to this effect?
