Breathe In The Air

Question:  A 32 year old male is evaluated for nasal obstruction.  Examination reveals a fairly straight nasal septum without significant turbinate hypertrophy.  Closer examination reveals protrusion of the lateral crura of the lower lateral cartilages into the nasal valve area.  What is this called and how is it corrected?  [Answer will be posted with next week's new question]

Unilateral polyps may be a sign of an underlying neoplasm such as inverted papilloma.  Biopsy is the next step in management.
